Introduction to Beekeeping Workbook

You will actually SAVE money by enrolling in this course:

Many beekeepers make easily avoidable mistakes that kill their bees the first year. This course will help save you the heartache that comes with this loss AND you will save the $150 to $200 expense of replacing your bees. This course will also help you save $100’s by helping you avoid buying equipment you do not need to get started. By keeping your bees healthy you will also produce more honey.

Without the proper knowledge and guidance beekeeping can become a choir instead of a joy:

Struggles that come from not having learned the foundations of beekeeping cause many to struggle, become frustrated, and many quit beekeeping after just a year or two. This course will provide you the knowledge and guidance you need to get started right and will be a resource to answer your questions when they arise. This will make beekeeping the joy is supposed to be rather than a frustration.

Honey Bee

This course will also help you make more honey!

Starting out right and keeping bees healthy will lead to your bees making more honey! Where many new beekeepers struggle to keep their bees alive through the first winter, you will be preparing your bees for a second-year honey harvest of +30 pounds of honey! While we encourage NewBees not to count on honey the first year, the steps in this course may very well help you produce some first-year honey. An increase of just 14 lbs of honey will more than pay for this course!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this course worth the cost?

The short answer: YES! This course, the workbook, and completion packet cost $139, but will actually SAVE you money as a beekeeper. The reason is that many beekeepers lose their bees the first year. This course is designed to give you the foundations you need to keep your bees alive, this alone will more than pay for the cost of this course (Replacing bees costs between $150-$180). Keeping your bees happy and healthy will also save you the frustration of not knowing what to do with your bees and the heartache that can come from your bees dying. This heartache drives many NewBees out of beekeeping after just one or two years, before they ever truly experiencing the joys of beekeeping. Happy & healthy bees will also make more honey. If by taking this course your bees can make just 15 pounds more honey, which I have no doubt they will, your investment in this course will again have more than paid off (15 pounds @ $10/lb = $150). This course is also packed with tons of added value such as the workbook, NewBee pen, extended learning resources, completion certificate, completion gift, classroom discussion group and more. Your investment in this course will pay for itself many times over!

When does the course start and finish?

You can only enroll in this course during open enrollment periods. If you are not ready to enroll now or it is not an open enrollment period be sure to enter your email for updates. Once you have enrolled you will be able to work at your own pace. We suggest starting your course sometime in mid to late winter the season before you want to start keeping bees. This will provide you plenty of time to plan and to order bees. If you wait until spring it will get a bit more difficult to order bee and get everything lined up in time to start your first hive.
